哲学の道
A 2km stone-paved canal-side path connecting Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji, named after philosopher Nishida Kitaro who used it for daily meditation walks. Lined with hundreds of cherry trees creating a tunnel of blossoms in spring. Dotted with small temples, cafes, and artisan shops.

Ginkakuji-michi Bus Stop (Bus 5, 17, 100) for north end

- 1 North end (start): From Ginkaku-ji entrance, path begins heading south
- 2 South end: Near Nanzen-ji / Eikan-do, accessible from Keage Station
- 3 From Kyoto Station: Bus 5 or 100 to Ginkakuji-michi for north start
- 4 Walk south to north in morning for best light on canal reflections
- 5 Total walk: 30-45 minutes at leisurely pace, longer with stops

Best Time to Visit
Late March to early April for cherry blossom tunnel over the canal (iconic Kyoto scene). Autumn for maple reflections in water. Early morning or late afternoon for photography. Weekdays far less crowded than weekends in any season.
